SoundWave Listening Arts’ Alpha Effect approach benefits individuals with learning, social, and behavioral challenges, including autism spectrum disorder, add, adhd, spina bifida, sensory integration issues, pdd, developmental, speech or language delays, and learning disabilities.

This program is designed to support and enhance skills that fundamentally affect our lives and our ability to learn, including:

Listening difficulties adversely affect academic and learning outcomes, language abilities, energy regulation, as well as emotional well-being. When listening becomes tuned for efficiency, we may experience less stress, anxiety, tension, and frustration, and gain a greater sense of self-confidence and esteem. Additional benefits often include positive emotional balance, joyful mood, and increased energy and stamina.

Maggie and Parker explore art exercises during The Alpha Effect

During key periods of brain development, ear infections can weaken the inner ear muscles of infants and toddlers contributing to long-term consequences. The Alpha Effect is an earobics training that improves listening skills by exercising these muscles. This training can assist in the development of vital brain function and learning ability, as well as physical and vestibular improvements, proper balance and coordination.

Fundamentally, The Alpha Effect derives from Dr. Alfred Tomatis’ world renowned research. Dr. Tomatis worked with thousands of children and adults diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity, dyslexia, and other learning disabilities from the 1950s through the 1990s at his Paris Center. Today, public schools in France use his method as an aid for students learning foreign languages.
