The Alpha Effect listening program benefits artists, performers, speakers and vocalists. This program is designed to improve voice skills of both singers and speakers. By improving listening skills, and engaging in vocal exercises provided in the The Alpha Effect, voice quality, richness and projection may be further improved. Performing artists experience greater concentration and ease, with fluidity and confidence in memorization and vocal expression.

Our Alpha Effect program is based on the work of Dr. Alfred Tomatis, who discovered the “Tomatis Effect”, which states that “the voice can only contain the frequencies that the ear can hear.” From the 1950s through the 1990s, Dr. Tomatis treated and improved the voices of opera singers and performers throughout Europe.  He also worked extensively toward facilitating successful language acquisition.  Today, French public schools employ his method for students learning foreign languages.

By refining and tuning listening skills with The Alpha Effect, artists frequently experience enhanced proficiency in their field of expertise. Benefits include increased energy and vitality, creativity, focus, concentration and development of their creative potentiality.

The art exercises below were completed by Alpha Effect participants.
